The Founder's Vision
The late Dr. Ephrem Whingwiri founded Zim Earthworm Farms (Pvt) Ltd with a profound understanding of the challenges facing Zimbabwean agriculture and a revolutionary solution: the humble earthworm.
Dr. Whingwiri recognised the role earthworms can play in processing organic material into biologically active resources for soil and crop-management systems.
His vision was to create integrated earthworm-based technologies that address environmental challenges, food insecurity, poverty, and climate change—all through the power of vermiculture.
ZEF continues to develop the founder's earthworm-based approach to soil health, resource cycling and practical agricultural applications.
